What is in this Checklist?

The checklist contains scholarly and critical studies in English on Dutch literature and on the history of the Netherlands and Belgium. The studies on Dutch literature cover all periods, from medieval literature to the present day. The studies on the history of the Low Countries cover primarily the Early Modern period and modern and contemporary history. The checklist contains English-language studies published between 1900 and 2004. For the period 1900–1989 only book-length works have been entered. For the period 1990–2004 the list comprises journal articles and chapters in books as well as monographs. The checklist is intended for use by students and researchers. However it is freely available to all.
